FAQ

Frequently Asked questions

Q Is premarital counseling required?

A No, premarital counseling is not required.

Q Can we write our own vows?

A Absolutely!

Q Do I have to get married in a church?

A NO! See next question.

Q Where do you conduct the ceremony?

A Just about anywhere. Parks, Wedding Chapels, cruise ships, coffee shops. The options are nearly endless.

Q How long will the ceremony last?

A It is totally up to you and your finacé(e)! If you'd like to keep the ceremony short and not exceed a certain time length, we can certainly do so. If you'd like multiple readings from multiple family members, that is A-OK! Generally speaking, ceremonies last approximately 30-45 minutes.

Q Will you be conducting other weddings that day?

A During wedding season, it is possible that I'll have another ceremony. To avoid the possibility of running late, I don't schedule two weddings less than 4 hours apart.

Q Do you charge additional to be at the rehearsal?

A NO! My fees include attending rehearsal.

Q What is your travel policy?

A Weddings over 40 miles of my place of business may incur an additional fee of $1.25 per round trip mile. I will discuss this very early on. We will travel to where ever your ceremony will be held. Depending on location and amount of travel, you may be responsible for air travel, hotel stay, and or car rental. All travel needs will be clearly discussed prior to you signing the contract and submitting the retainer fee.

Q What payment options do you take?

A I gladly accept cash, check and credit cards. We use Square for invoicing and credit card processing. We are looking at adding CashApp and Venmo.

Q Do you have a payment plan?

A We will create a payment plan that fits you! There's no late fees if you miss a payment. However, full payment is due 1 week prior to your wedding. We will send reminders.

Q Can you provide any references from couples you've married?

A Absolutely!

Q Who obtains the marriage license?

A It is the responsibility of the couple being married to obtain the marriage license and have it on site for the wedding. It is recommended to obtain the marriage license, from the state in which you are getting married, approximately 30 days prior to your wedding.

Q Who returns the marriage license?

A The marriage license must be returned to the courthouse within 10 days of your wedding.
